PicoScope Review
A digital storage oscilloscope which automatically detects Pico devices and allows you to quickly and easily perform signal measurements
Measurements were often seen as dependent on certain, physical models and tools, but with the advent of digital technologies and software, the advantages that came with it eclipsed such old techniques and offered a new dimension in terms of versatility and flexibility, as well as precision. Aiming at offering a tool for performing various measurements, PicoScope will allow you to connect your preferred hardware and observe and record oscilloscope-specific parameters for Pico devices, such as AC RMS, Cycle Time, DC Average, and more.
Having connected your corresponding Pico hardware to your PC or workstation, PicoScope will present you with a quite elegant design, both in terms of aesthetics, and, more importantly, functionality.
I found the available features and the on-screen commands to offer quick access to adjusting parameters, previewing wavelength, setting the different channel values, as well as accessing additional tasks, all at a glance.
In addition to visualizing the recorded wavelength and its corresponding shape and characteristics, the application also comes equipped with a range of additional features, which address a multitude of adjacent tasks.
To that end, you will be able to tackle math channels, measurements, reference waveforms, take notes, perform serial decoding, and preview instruments. A series of built-in tests are also available, enabling you the chance to assess alternator rippling, voltage and current, parasitic battery drain, and more.
